PROFILE

KSGW Architects has a fifteen-year history of work on projects ranging in size and complexity; from $30 thousand renovations to a $95 million Justice Complex. However, an Architecture firm is only as strong as its people, and the foundation of KSGW Architects is provided by its three principals. Karen Sicner formed Sicner Planning & Design, Inc. in 1993, and was reorganized in 2002 as KSGW Architects, LLC with the addition of Gregory Washington, a new partner. In 2007, KSGW formalized it’s 15 year working relationship with J. Richard Davidson by bringing him in as the partner in charge of our Justice Studio.

In addition, in the spring of 2006, KSGW Architects and SchenkelShultz, with offices in Florida, Indiana and North Carolina, formed a strategic alliance. By combining the seasoned design professionals of KSGW and SchenkelShultz into a single collaborative group, we expand our geographic reach and are able to offer clients much greater depth in specialized expertise, knowledge and experience.

(From Vitruvius The Ten Books on Architecture)
Since the apex of the Roman empire, a successful Architectural project must be based on the following objectives : the functional objectives and relationships (Order), aesthetics (Eurythmy), construction techniques and methodology (Propriety), and the appropriate level of cost-to-value and budget (Economy).
